On Wednesday, the State Water Resources Control Board postponed a scheduled vote on proposed amendments to the Bay-Delta Plan for the Lower San Joaquin River and southern Delta upon the request Governor Brown and Governor-Elect Newsom. The hope is that by postponing, stakeholders can come to an agreement on water flows for the Delta and avoid a contentious regulatory process.
Meanwhile, the State Water Resources Control Board is working on a similar plan for the Sacramento River and all its tributaries, including the American River, which is due to be released next year. PCWA has been engaged for the last 18 months with the state, the federal government and other regional interests to make sure our investments and water entitlements are protected. We hope to reach a settlement that satisfies the interests of all parties but are prepared to engage in the regulatory process, if necessary.
