The LMA RDMWG has published a DMPTool Template to help researchers
create a data management plan for their biomedical data project

New Data Management Plan Template Available on DMPTool

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has issued its Final NIH Policy for Data Management and Sharing (DMS Policy) to promote the management and sharing of scientific data generated from NIH-funded or conducted research. This policy will require the submission of Data Management and Sharing Plans at the time of grant application, effective January 25, 2023.

In response to this DMS Policy and using guidance from the NIH, we have created a Harvard Medical School Biomedical DMP Template on the DMPTool, a free, web-based tool to assist the creation of funder or university-specific plans. The DMP Template provides organization-specific guidance to create a relevant and useful data management plan for grants or other research projects.

While 2023 seems far away, we encourage you to start using this template for any DMP you may need to create.

Making your research reproducible with protocols.io

Research papers and protocol organization in labs often lack detailed instructions for repeating experiments. protocols.io is an open-access platform for researchers to create step-by-step, interactive, and dynamic protocols that can be run on mobile or web. Join us for a webinar on June 10th at 12:00pm to learn more about some of the functionality in protocols.io and best practices for reproducible protocols.
