Sharpen your advocacy skills and add to your toolbox this summer! All one-hour trainings offered at 12:00 PM.

Your feedback is very important to the work we do. You asked and we listened!  

This summer, the PEAL Center will bring you your most requested topics and deliver them to you live from the comfort and safety of your home or office. We have developed these live one-hour online sessions with the most essential nuggets of information.  Whether you want to refresh your knowledge or add new tools to your advocacy skills, we invite you to register to one, two or all the online sessions.

Con base en los cuatro temas más solicitados por ustedes, el Centro PEAL le estará ofreciendo este verano sesiones educativas en vivo y de forma virtual. Aproveche el verano y aprenda con nosotros desde el confort y seguridad de su hogar u oficina. Estas sesiones informativas son concisas y llenas de información esencial para que empiece el próximo año escolar con fortaleza. This event will have ASL interpreters and will be live streamed across the Disability Pride PA YouTube Channel and Live pop ins via their Facebook page! U.S. Department of Education Announces Intent to Strengthen and Protect Rights for Students with Disabilities by Amending Regulations Implementing Section 504


Forty-five years after publication of the regulations implementing Section 504 of the landmark Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the US Department of Education has announced plans to gather public input on possible amendments to those regulations to protect and strengthen the rights of students with disabilities.

Section 504 prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability in public and private programs and activities that receive federal financial assistance, including K–12 schools and postsecondary institutions.

U.S. Census Bureau Looking for Feedback from Families on Health Topics


For Parents of Children ages 3-17
The U.S. Census Bureau is looking for parents and caregivers of children ages 3–17 to give their feedback about questions in a national survey about children’s health topics. We are especially looking for parents or caregivers who meet one or more of the following criteria: 
  • Has a child with some degree of permanent hearing loss
  • Has a child who lives in another household at least part of the time
  • Has ever tested positive for COVID-19
  • Has a child who has ever tested positive for COVID-19
The research session will be conducted online using secure videoconferencing. The session will take about 60 minutes. We will provide $50 to each eligible person who participates in the 60-minute session. Federal employees are not eligible to receive the $50. If interested, please complete this short questionnaire.

For Parents of Young Adults ages 18-22
The U.S. Census Bureau is looking for parents and caregivers to give feedback about questions in a national survey about health topics related to children and young adults. We are looking for parents or caregivers of a young adult age 18-22 that meets one or more of the following criteria:
  • Lives in another household at least part of the time
  • Has a family of their own
  • Has a disability or special healthcare needs that require a parent or caregiver to stay involved in their healthcare
  • Is enrolled in some form of post-secondary education that is not college
  • Has ever tested positive for COVID-19
The research session will be conducted online using secure videoconferencing. The session will take about 60 minutes. We will provide $50 to each eligible person who participates in the 60-minute session. Federal employees are not eligible to receive the $50. If interested, please complete this short questionnaire.
