Home Groups – Our home groups are just starting to begin meeting again. I truly believe they are a vital part of any healthy church, when the people of God meet together in these smaller gatherings to read the Bible, pray together, encourage each other and form far deeper friendships than can be made over the sometimes rushed conversations we have on a Sunday. I would genuinely love to see all of you join one of our groups, I think you will find them of tremendous value to your faith.
Currently the groups that are meeting at my place will be watching and discussing a series of videos that are a Bible Overview. It will cover similar material to what we are looking at in our God’s Big Picture sermon series. So if you are finding Sunday’s at the moment a bit rushed or you have lots of questions you want answered this will be a great opportunity to explore how the story of the Bible fits together. So why not take this as an opportunity to join one of our home groups. There is a sign-up sheet on the wall in the morning tea room. Details of when the groups meet are below.

Scott Sargent - On Sunday the 24th Scott Sargent who is the State Director of the Church Missionary Society (CMS) will be joining us. This will be an opportunity for us to hear about the wonderful work that God has been doing through CMS Tasmania to make disciples of Jesus among the nations and how we can partner with them by praying, caring, giving or even going.

Emergency Ministry Training – The fires of January certainly reminded us of how vulnerable we can be to natural disasters in our state. Given our relative isolation here in Circular Head it is important we have multiple people trained up and ready to respond if and when a crisis occurs. Thankfully, we have an opportunity coming up this month to be prepared.
On Saturday 30th March at Circular Head Christian School, there will be a training day provided by the Tasmanian Council of Churches’ Emergencies Ministry, who are an agency whose sole purpose is to deliver pastoral care in times of crisis. I am aware that some of their volunteer chaplains did some great work in showing the love of Christ to the folk down in the Huon during the recent fires.
I will be attending this training and would love for some of you to join me. Registration is essential as there is some pre-reading to do. More info including registration can be found here

Electoral Roll –. As most of you would be aware we have technically been ‘under review’ here in Circular Head for the best part of 3 years now. The Diocesan Council (governing board of the Anglican Church of Tasmania) recently decided to declare us to be no longer under review. If that means nothing to you, fear not, the basic summary is that we now have the power to vote in a local lay leadership team. So sometime soon we will have a meeting to do so. There are two implications for right now. Firstly, please be praying that God would lead the right people to be nominated to serve us in this way. Secondly, to be able to vote (as well as nominate someone) then you need to be on the electoral roll of our church. This will be available to be signed on Sunday.
