December 24, 2017 Service: I Believe in Santa Claus

Please join us at UUCF on December 10th at 11am for our Sunday Service entitled "I Believe in Santa Claus."

“You don't have to believe there is a benevolent man dressed in a red suit to believe in Santa Claus. Seeing the good in humanity all year long is what makes me believe in Santa Claus.” - Storm Silvermane.

Child care is available during service. Service is followed by food and fellowship just after our 11am service!  You are welcome here!

Our speaker: Storm M. Silvermane is the Co-Founder of NC Transgender Safe Haven, a non-profit organization to support the transgender community with resources, advocacy, and support groups. He is married to his beautiful wife Angel, father to his three kids and Daideo to his two grandbabies. His field of study is criminal psychology and gender diversity.

  • On-going: UUCF collects toiletries for Fayetteville Urban Ministries. Donations welcome. 
  • On-going: Wednesdays at 6:30pm is Religious Exploration for Adults, hosted by Kent Smith at 115 Hale St, Fayetteville. Coffee, refreshments and conversation. Children welcome for independent play.
  • December 31st Congregational Vote: At our December 31st service, we will hold a congregational vote to endorse James Jufer as a candidate for ministry in Aspirant Status so that he may further his education. 
  • Sunday Services Meeting: Our next Sunday Services meeting will be after service on January 14th. We will be planning services for March-June. 2017 Summer Services in July & August will focus on each of the 7 Principles, one per week, with the 8th meeting ending in a summer potluck. 
  • Board Meeting: Our next board meeting is on Feb. 11th after service. We will be formally reviewing and updating the Bylaws. A PDF and print copies of the bylaws will be available for all members who wish to have input in updating. This will be the first official update of board positions and bylaws since 2008.
UUCF is hiring for a child care/children's faith development position, ages birth to 12 years. This is a paid position. Time commitment is 1.5 hours on Sundays (September-June) and approximately 3 hours of preparation/training per week
The candidate must be willing to train in UU curricula for Children: 
- Tapestry of Faith (free program)   - OWL (Our Whole Life) training, paid for by UUCF. 
The ideal candidate:
Teach and nurture within the respects of the UU principles, Experience in child development/education, Certified in OWL or other paths of UU Faith Development
