October 1, 2017 Service: Local Pipelines & Sustainable Conversation

Join us October 1st for our 11am service as we explore the UUA response to climate change as the debate of pipelines and climate change hits home right here in Fayetteville with the Atlantic (Dominion) pipeline. The proposed route of the pipeline goes through eastern Cumberland County and the northeast corner of Sampson County, ending in Robeson County. Our guest speaker for the service is Maria McDonald, Communications Director for Sustainable Sandhills. Her talk will focus on the pipeline and positive alternatives outlined in the Clean Energy Summit. Maria is a talented chef, community advocate, and spiritual believer working to protect the planet.  Following the service will be an interest meeting for those who like to form the UUCF Climate Summit Committee. The goal of the committee is to lead a session about various religious responses to climate change during the 2017 Climate Summit in March. Service is followed by refreshments and discussion. Child care is available. You are welcome here!
