ILSC Book Club

This month we're reading The Children of Men by P.D. James. The year is 2021. No child has been born for twenty-five years.  Under the despotic rule of Xan Lyppiat, the Warden of England, the old are despairing and the young cruel. Theo Faren, a cousin of the Warden, lives a solitary life in this ominous atmosphere. That is until a chance encounter with a young woman leads him into contact with a group of dissenters. Suddenly his life is changed irrevocably, as he faces agonising choices, which could affect the future of humanity.
Join us on Tuesday 2 June at 1pm to share our thoughts  - whether you've read the whole book or just a little, we all have something to share!

Mental Health Awareness Week

Next week is Mental Health Week and the theme is KINDNESS! 'Kindness unlocks our shared humanity and is central for our mental health. It has the potential to bring us together with benefits for everyone, particularly at times of great stress.' Take a look at the resources for this week or start some conversations about mental health - just starting the conversation can be an important act of kindness!

Saying Thank You

Did you know that saying expressing gratitude can have great benefits on your mental health as well as boost your immune system?! Well, if you haven't yet, there is still time to say 'thank you' to the amazing staff of the ILSC as we prepare for the closure of the ILSC housing (feel free to mention individuals or to offer general thanks). These messages will be brought together in a hardcopy format to be presented to the individual staff of the ILSC - when it is possible to do so.

Just follow the link below to say 'thanks!'. I'm sure you feel the way I do - they are some pretty amazing people!
Thank you to ILSC Housing Staff
