August & September

ILSC Book Club

Kim Jiyoung, Born 1982 is the life story of one young woman born at the end of the twentieth century in Korea and raises questions about endemic misogyny and institutional oppression that are relevant to us all. We'll come together (online!) at the end of September to share our thoughts!

What's on?

It's August bank holiday weekend and that usually means Notting Hill Carnival! But, like many events, this year the Carnival has had to go online. That will not stop the energy of the music, food, dress and culture you can experience! Make your own Caribbean food and cocktails, learn some new dance moves and this year, you just might get a good view of everything!

Yesterday the British Museum re-opened for visitors. Still free but you need to book a time to visit in advance. If you've been longing for some in-person culture - book a slot and let us know how your visit went!

What does the ILSC mean to you?

As we work to bring the ILSC sense of community to new students coming into London (and continue supporting students already here) we'd love to hear from you! Whether it's to contribute your thoughts about what the ILSC means to you (which we can then post on our website or facebook page) or if you'd be interested in being a part of 'Ask Me Anything' zoom sessions to share your wisdom with new students - we'd love to hear from you. The ILSC community is one that reaches far and wide, far beyond any four walls!
