ILSC Book Club

International Day of Action for Women's Health

'COVID-19 may have impacted all of us, but we are not all impacted equally. It has disproportionately affected women’s health and overall well-being, particularly for those who are living in contexts where public healthcare systems are dismal and vaccines remain inaccessible

The pandemic has exposed and worsened long-standing social and gender inequalities that are manifested in many forms and are operating at different intersecting levels and infringes upon women’s rights, among them, women’s rights to life, health, bodily autonomy, equality and non-discrimination, and freedom from violence.'

Join the movement. Make a stand. Take action.

ILSC Daytrip!
Afternoon Sunday 27 June

Walk in Happy Valley & Pub Dinner

We had a great walk last Sunday amongst the bluebells (and rain!) of Banstead Woods. We had so much fun we're going to do it again but this time in Happy Valley (yes, it is a real place - there's even photographic evidence above!). We'll go for a gentle stroll through Farthing Wood and Happy Valley followed by dinner at the local pub (on us)! If you are interested, please get in touch!

Ever wonder

What is a Bank Holiday and why do we have them?

This Monday's bank holiday is historically linked to the Christian observance of Pentecost (or Whit Sunday) and was called Whit Monday. It's now been moved to the last Monday of May and just called 'Spring Bank Holiday'.

Feeling a bit ...?

Many of us are feeling a bit weary and fed-up at the moment and may just need some space to talk. If you're feeling a bit down or anxious or sad or on edge or a bit lost in the midst of everything going on around you - remember that the chaplain is here to provide support for you. Feel free to get in touch over the phone or email if you'd like to schedule a time to talk.
