This week's Meeting:

The Program Committee will be joining us to lead a discussion about RCGB programs during the time of Covid.

We intend the presentation to be interactive and are looking for input from Club members as to what they would like to see from programs in the future.

Past club member Jed Langley passed away last week. He was a member when club members built the catch boom for the Duck Race in his cabinet shop—we still use that boom today. His shop also built the closets for the Family Youth Center for no charge.

Jed Langley, 72, passed away January 26, 2021. He had been dealing with heart failure and cared for by hospice. Born March 12, 1948 in Portland, Oregon. He earned his bachelor degree in education from Oregon State University, then married Susan Hillesland in 1975.

He is survived by his wife, son Werner and daughter Kory. When Jed moved to Bend to prepare for the White Water Canoeing World Cup with his twin brother Jay, he became a cabinet maker and started Jed’s Woodworking, which will continue under his most excellent crew and shop manager.

Jed loved singing barbershop style and loved to quartet on Valentines Day. More recently, he had taken up catch and release fly fishing with his lifelong friend Tom. His true passion was always waterskiing. He was kind hearted, generous, hardworking, and loving. He always wore a smile and touched many.

Deschutes County desperately needs medical volunteers to help with Covid injections. They can also use non-medical volunteers to help with logistics, like directing traffic, setting up tables, filling syringes, etc.

They want potential volunteers to apply online: Please direct rotary to the volunteer portal to apply to become a member of the Public Health Reserve Corp: https://www.governmentjobs.com/careers/deschutes/jobs/28819 35/public-health-reserve-corps-licensed-or-non-licensed-citi zen-volunteers?pagetype=transferJobs

It takes some time to fill out the form, then they have to do a background check, so this could take awhile before we actually get to help.

Thank you, Cort Vaughn for bringing this opportunity for service to our members.
