Today's program will be a presentation on Mosaic Medical from Emily Boynton (Senior Development Officer) and Rod Ray (Board Treasurer) of Mosaic.

On Tuesday, November 16 2021, our program will be a presentation on Mosaic Medical from Emily Boynton (Senior Development Officer) and Rod Ray (Board Treasurer) of Mosaic. Mosaic Medical is a private, non-profit, community-based, community-supported, and community-governed network of Central Oregon health centers that provide quality care for all regardless of life circumstances. Mosaic offers a network of 15 health centers across Bend, Redmond, Madras and Prineville and serves a patient base of 27,000 individuals – meeting patients where they are – physically, culturally, and financially. Rod Ray is Board Treasurer for Mosaic Medical and the former Chief Executive Officer at Bend Research, Inc., where he worked for over 30 years. Rod helped build and grow Bend Research before it was acquired by Capsugel in 2013 (which was later acquired by Lonza).

Rod now brings his leadership and strategic planning skills to bear as a consultant for companies and individuals seeking to learn about change, change management, operational excellence and leadership. Having over 40 years’ experience with the inter-workings of one of Bend’s oldest and landmark technology companies, welcoming and transitioning through change has been the foundation to Dr. Ray’s success as a leader. He holds a master’s degree and doctorate in chemical engineering from the University of Colorado and a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Oregon State University.

This meeting will both in-person at the Riverhouse (restaurant side), and virtual.

Thanks to everyone who brought food to the Giving Plate last Saturday and for our Rotary helpers.

The Giving Plate Returns for Thanksgiving

Once again we have the opportunity to help the less fortunate in our community. Those of you who participated in last year's Giving Plate Thanksgiving meal grocery handout know what a rewarding experience it was. New members now is your chance to participate!

We still have three days of grocery handout opportunities. All standard safety precautions will be followed and the Giving Plate has had no Covid cases – they are very careful! Food is placed in the trunks of the vehicles with no person to person contact.

GROCERY HAND OUT NOV 18,19, 20: There are 3 hour blocks to hand out the dinner fix’ins. (Saturday is a 4 hour block). We need two Rotarians per shift and kids over 12 are welcome to assist. See our sign up page to help out.

The club will be dark (no meeting) on Tuesday, November 23rd. The following Tuesday, November 30th, will be a Happy Hour.

As announced at our August 24 meeting, all club members and guests attending in-person club meetings must be vaccinated.

The same requirement has been made for all speakers who address our club at in-person meetings. Speakers will need to be vaccinated. Unvaccinated members who are interested in staying active in the club can attend meetings virtually using zoom.

PLEASE GET VACCINATED!

President Gary has set a goal for our club's donations to The Rotary Foundation and is tracking it weekly. You can set up to have a monthly or quarterly amount deducted automatically from your bank account, or make an annual donation.

You can donate at a weekly meeting or go online to make your donation. It's a good time to start thinking about making your end of year charitable donation to the Rotary Foundation.
