End of Year Dinner for Juanfe

Michael Cottam

Tomorrow, we’re having an end-of-the-year dinner party on Tuesday June 4 both to honor Juanfe for being such an awesome exchange student – and – to recognize and thank the host families who have played such an instrumental role in his time here in Bend and the US.

NOTE:  no lunch meeting this week!

Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner/BBQ

Sunday, June 30, 2019 Social Hour 5:00 – 6:15 pm

Please join us for one of our most popular fellowship events that began over 15 years ago! Guess Who's Coming to Dinner is a free event that gives us a unique opportunity to get to know our fellow Rotarians and their spouse/guests in an intimate environment with no actual agenda other than to enjoy dinner and conversation!

Hosts volunteer to open their home for 8-10 guests and will provide the main dish and coffee. If you are a guest, you will be assigned an appetizer, salad or dessert as well as wine or an alternate beverage. At a social hour prior to the event, hosts will leave early and guests will be assigned a mystery host home and leave for dinner. That’s where the fun begins as no one will know who will show up at the table!

2019 Great Duck Race Kickoff

Michael Cottam

We have a date for our media kickoff of the Rotary Duck Race this year and hoping you can be there.

It is going to be at Robberson Ford on Thursday, June 27th at 11am. We will have the Rotary clubs, sponsors and race proceed recipients from 2019 and selected non profit recipients for 2019.

2020 Rotary International Convention

Aloha Rotary Members of District 5110!

Please join me in Honolulu for the 2020 Rotary International Convention. I would be both honored and thrilled to celebrate our 2019-2020 Rotary year with you, your partner and family in beautiful Honolulu, Hawaii: June 6-10, 2020.

Convention registration is now open and between today, June 1 and June 5th, 2019 the registration fee is discounted at $395. Thereafter it goes to $450. I urge you to register now at Click on the Honolulu tab and register. Be sure to add any pre-convention sessions that interest you before you leave the site.

Hotel registration is also up and running. You will note a small link in lower left after your registration is saved. Reserving a hotel room now is highly recommended. This convention will be very well attended and the hotels near the convention venue will fill up quickly. At these Rotary sponsored hotels you have the opportunity to reserve a block of rooms for your Club Members in advance of their registration. What better fellowship and engagement in the meaning of Rotary than experiencing RI Convention together!

I look forward to sharing the true Aloha spirit of Honolulu with you and appreciating the unity of people and nature: connecting the world. Enjoy the video:

Yours in Service to Rotary,

Cindi O'Neil
