Meet the Match for Polio Eradication

Our club's own Cort Vaughn was on a Facebook Live event on June 11th. Get the latest update on polio eradication from Cort, along with Johrita Solari, Rotary International Director, Brenda Cressey, Trustee of The Rotary Foundation, Michael McGovern, RI Polio Chair.

Here's the video of that event:

The Rotary Foundation Giving To Date This Year

This Rotary year ends in just a few days, 15 to be exact. Please consider donating to The Rotary Foundation and/or PolioPlus prior to July 1st. Currently we have saved 2526 lives in total giving, including the Annual Fund, PolioPlus, and the Endowment Fund. We are at 79% of our target of 3200 lives.

The Annual Fund, the fund that provides District Designated Funds (DDF) for our District and Global Grants, stands at 1813 Lives Saved or $453,182. That amount means approximately $113K for District Grants in 3 years. In other words, there will not be enough DDF to fund a District Grant for each club as we have done for the past several years, with a $2000 match. To fund a District Grant for each club we will need to raise our Annual Fund giving to 2176 lives or $544,000 before July 1st.

In-Person Happy Hour & Passing of the Gavel

Our June 30th meeting will NOT be at noon, but rather it's going to be our first in-person meeting since the start of COVID-19, and it's going to be a combined Passing of the Gavel meeting + Happy Hour. We'll celebrate President Mark's year, the start of President Shannon's year, and getting to see each other in person once again.

It's going to be at 5PM, on the lawn at Michael Cottam's house, 20915 Royal Oak Circle (just south of Cooley, cross street 18th).

Please bring your own lawn chair, something to drink, and your spouse if you'd like.
