Our Club's Food Drive for The Giving Plate, Round #2

As most of you are aware, in May, members of the Rotary Club of Greater Bend conducted a very successful food drive and donated close to 1000 lbs of food to "The Giving Plate". Unfortunately, the number of families needing food has only grown since then. To follow up on our previous effort, we are organizing another food drive for The Giving Plate that will occur on Friday, 24 July, at 11:00 am. The address of The Giving Plate is 1245 SE 3rd St C7. It is in a small strip mall just south of where Division St runs into SE 3rd St, just before the Super 8 by Wyndham Hotel.

Click here to add this to my calendar

Please bring your food donations to the front entrance of The Giving Plate. The long line of cars going to the rear of The Giving Plate are families looking to receive food donations. Do not get in the line leading to the rear of The Giving Plate.  There will be fellow Rotarians waiting near the entrance of The Giving Plate (wearing masks) who will receive your donations. If you prefer to stay in your car, just pull up, and we will collect your donation directly from your car and add it to our collective club contribution. The on-site Rotarians accepting the donations will be standing near the front entrance from approximately 10:45 am to approximately 11:15 am.

This is not a contest, but it would be great to exceed our previous donation amount of circa 1000 lbs. Whatever we contribute will be a blessing for those less fortunate in our community. If you have any questions or get lost trying to make your food delivery, please call/text Gary Meyer at (757) 254-6836.

Here's a list describing needed contributions.
