Seeking Host Families for the District 5110 Youth Exchange Winter Getaway
Central Oregon Rotary Clubs have been asked to support this fun activity by providing lodging (and some transportation) for both the exchange students and the adults of the Youth Exchange Committee. Lisa Dobey and Bruce Abernethy have already volunteered - are there others who can join us?
We need to pull together host families for ~26 students, roughly 16 females and 10 males. Ideally, 3-4 exchange students per host family, and Yes, the students can share beds and they will have their own sleeping bags and pillows. Please let us know if you have a preference for gender or can do either (it won’t be mixed).
We will also need host families to host roughly 6 adult Youth Exchange Committee members.
The rough agenda for the weekend (times/places subject to change) goes something like this:
Jan 23 (Thursday) students arrive, host family picks up the students at Mt. Bachelor Bend office (Sun Country Tours @ 531 SW 13th Street) at around 6:00pm and then provides dinner
Jan 24 (Friday) provide breakfast, drop students off at Mt. Bachelor offices at 7:15am sharp. Students go skiing or snowboarding for most of the day and then ice skating late afternoon. Host family picks up student around 6:00pm in the Old Mill (between Anthony’s and The Gap) and provides dinner
Jan 25 (Saturday) provide breakfast, drop students off at Mt. Bachelor offices at 8:00am. Students go cross country skiing and tubing during the day. Pick up students at Old Mill (between Anthony’s and The Gap) at ~8:00pm, they will have eaten dinner
Jan 26 (Sunday) provide breakfast and drop students off at Mt. Bachelor offices at 9:00am for trip home.
