The same requirement has been made for all speakers who address our club at in-person meetings. Speakers will need to be vaccinated. Unvaccinated members who are interested in staying active in the club can attend meetings virtually using zoom.

PLEASE GET VACCINATED!

A Big THANK YOU goes out to Boy Scout Troop 23, we are their chartering organization, for helping on Saturday at the Veterans Village. Sometimes we forget how much energy our youth have! The Scouts, led by David Scalley, carried the platforms for all the decks (they were pretty heavy) about 100 yards to each home and helped build the decks.

The Scouts worked tirelessly all day and welcomed the pizza lunch provided by Hayden Homes to all the volunteer workers.

Thanks Eric and Tom for arranging such a meaningful service project. If you couldn't join us on Saturday, make a point of helping on our next work day. This is what Rotary is all about, Service Above Self, and we had a great time too!

Thank you to all the sponsors who provided prizes and everyone who purchased a Duck Race Ticket. We raised over $65,000 for the four charities, breaking last year's numbers.

Meet Tom Combs. Tom has been a Rotarian for 15 years, in Bend for five years, moving here from Truckee, California (near Lake Tahoe) for ten years.

In case you couldn't tell by his actions, Tom likes to do things in the community and likes making new friends, his favorite part of being a Rotarian. When asked what he does for a living he answered "I currently contemplating why is there air and other esoteric topics and have been since 2003 when I retired after 25 years with the Santa Rosa Police Department. Still haven't found the answers."

Tom wants us to know he is "Married to a wonderful lady Sandy. She has put up with me for 30 years. I live to ski in the winter with Tom Hellwarth. Like to hike and do a lot of woodwork to keep me off the streets."

President Gary has set a goal for our club's donations to The Rotary Foundation and is tracking it weekly. You can set up to have a monthly or quarterly amount deducted automatically from your bank account, or make an annual donation. You can donate at a weekly meeting or go online to make your donation.
