Greetings, Pacific Northwest District Key Clubbers!

I hope that October is treating you well. The beginning of the school year is a time filled with new community service opportunities, first impressions, and the celebration of new members. However, as the school year progresses, it can be difficult coming up with creative ways to inspire your members, organize service projects, and fundraise for the District Project. This Biweekly Update focuses on those things. First, the District Project Committee has been developing a variety of new fundraising and promotional materials. And secondly, this is the final Biweekly Update where the PNWOF will be featured because applications are due soon. Be sure to keep reading for more information.

As always, feel free to reach out to me at if you have any questions!

Thirsty 30 Campaign
Pacfic Northwest District is participating in Thirsty 30 during the month of November. Thirsty 30 is a fundraising campaign organized by the Thirst Project which yields high results with very little effort. If your club is struggling to come up with fundraising ideas or hasn’t managed to organize a successful fundraiser, participating in Thirsty 30 is an effortless way to raise $200 or more. See the button below for more information.

Thirst Project Promotional Video
The District Project Committee recently created a promotional video to help your club spread awareness about the Global Water Crisis. Called “Thirsty for Life,” it can be found by clicking the button below or on the PNW Key Club YouTube channel. The video provides basic information about the Thirst Project and includes a message from Thirst Project’s Student Activation Coordinator, Kellen Brewer! Please consider showing it at your club’s next meeting.

The Merch for Mahlalini Campaign is officially launched! We hope you or your friends and family will help support the Mahlalini Region in funding five sustainable water projects that will bring clean water, prevent the spread of diseases, provide an opportunity for education, and promote a higher standard of living. The grant application for the Pacific Northwest Opportunities Fund, also known as the PNWOF, was launched last month! By receiving funding for up to two-thirds of a service project, clubs have the opportunity to give back to their community in new and innovative ways that they may not have been able to accomplish before. I am so excited to see all of the unique ideas that clubs around the district propose this year.

The PNWOF will award grants of $100 to $1,000, and applications must be received by Thursday, October 31st, at 11:59 PM PST. I hope to see an increase in the number of applications submitted this year, as these grants open new doors for clubs. I encourage you to reach out to PNWOF Chair, Katie Sell, at with any questions. See the link below for more information about the PNWOF.
