Greetings, Pacific Northwest District!

My name is Justin Englund and I am excited to serve as your 2019-2020 Pacific Northwest District Governor. I am currently a Junior at Kentwood High School and have served as a Past Treasurer of Kentwood Key Club, as well as the Immediate-Past Lieutenant Governor of Division 32.

This year, I hope to focus on growing each club in our district. Whether I have the opportunity to work personally with club officers, through a Lieutenant Governor, or to provide resources through emails like these, I hope to help clubs make progress this year. The first thing we can do as a district is to ensure our officers are educated. I hope to create high quality training materials for the District Board and club officers that help us strengthen the service our clubs provide, and deepen our connections with the communities we serve. I am also currently looking for Lieutenant Governors to serve Divisions AYN, 22/24, 52, 70, 72, and 80. I hope to increase access to the district by working alongside our Lieutenant Governors to hopefully launch Key Club Day East, and grow both Canada Conference, and Alaska Conference in the fall of 2019. I also want to strengthen connections with our communities by contacting schools that have the potential to build new Key Clubs, creating new resources for clubs that help them plan more effective service projects, and ensuring that our District Board committees are working to better meet the needs of our clubs. Lastly, I will create mechanisms for more effective communication, ensuring our district continues to seek feedback, working more closely with Lieutenant Governors to help them achieve their goals for their divisions, and making sure our district is able to work with clubs before challenges occur such as lacking funds to attend DCON in March 2020.

As we delve deeper into the service year, our clubs will participate in impactful service projects, attract new members, and elect new officers. I am so excited to watch all of your clubs grow one step at a time. Please feel free to email me at at any time, if you need assistance. I hope to be an asset for you and your club this year.

Please join me in welcoming NorKam Senior Secondary School as our newest club to the Pacific Northwest District! Chartering with 25 members, NorKam will join Division 9 this year. It was delightful to see the club hold its official chartering ceremony earlier this week. The club is based in Kamloops, BC and will hold the only active Key Club charter in Interior British Columbia. We are so excited to see what this club will accomplish this year, and are grateful for the support that the Kiwanis Club of Kamloops continues to provide. .

We would also like to express our gratitude for Division 9 Lieutenant Governor, Piper Bauer for making the 4.5 hour drive up to Kamloops for this event, and for members of our adult team, Divisions 13/15/17 and 18 Area Administrator Allan Eckersley, and Assistant District Administrator Criena Sekhon, for taking their time to attend as well.

What’s poppin’ PNW!

I am Katie Sell and I am super excited to serve as your District Treasurer for 2019-20 service year. Currently, I am a Junior at Molalla High School and I am also the Immediate-Past Lieutenant Governor of Division 70. I am thrilled to witness the bonds that will be created between all of you, the personal growth you will experience, and the love for service that will further flourish in each of you. I hope to continually be a resource for each and every one of you, as well as help you to reach the goals you have set for the year. As for me, my goals include expansion of the Pacific Northwest Opportunities Fund by strategic promotion, assistance in planning and holding effective fundraisers, and of course helping each and every club in the district with turning in their dues before December 1st.

If you have any questions, feedback, or simply want to say hello- please contact me at I am thrilled to await the amazing achievements of the District this coming year.

Hello Pacific Northwest!

My name is Alicen Han, and I am absolutely ecstatic to be serving as your next District Editor. A little bit about myself - I am currently a junior at Newport High School, part of Division 28. I’m looking forward to working with our District Board as well as club editors this coming year.

Some goals I have for this year are having consistent social media posts, making myself available as a resource for club editors, as well as highlighting divisions and clubs from around the district.

And of course - I’m only an email away! Feel free to contact me at with any questions or feedback - especially if you’re a club editor yourself. I can’t wait to see what the future holds.
