This year has certainly been a different and difficult time for us and for everyone. We are absolutely thrilled that you continue to make quilts for kids in crisis. All three of our quilt drop-off days have been very successful, with a total of 717 quilts being turned in.
As you all are aware, we provide as much batting and fabric as we can for you to use in making these quilts. We have been fortunate to receive many fabric donations; however, we still purchase the batting at $136.00 per roll. During normal times, we receive monetary donations from many organizations to help cover our costs. This year, we have not received as many donations, so we are reaching out to our membership for help. If you know of any organization or individual who might be willing to contribute to Firehouse Quilts, please let us know.
We are signed up with Colorado Gives this year and the date of that is December 8th. More information regarding that day will be coming soon. We also have the King Soopers community donation fund, as well as Amazon Smile which provides some funding.
Expenses that need to be covered for the remainder of this year are batting ($136.00 per roll), storage bin ($180.00 mo.), website ($35.00 mo.) and misc. supplies, for a total of approximately $2,000.00. Please contact us if you have any suggestions how we can replace this funding. All donations are tax deductible.
