Since the start of term, our Engagement Coordinators have continued to support the students with completing their UCAS applications. The time for checking personal statements is behind us, but the last stages involve checking all the other sections of the UCAS application are complete, helping chase for references, and in some cases even supporting last minute decision making about the institutions learners are applying to study at. Coordinators are also beginning to track down Year 1 and Year 12 ward learners, explaining what the Uni Connect programme can offer and getting them signed up. While three of our Brightside mentoring projects are wrapping up in the next week, one continues into February, and two more will launch in late February, so places on these future schemes are being offered to the newly signed up Year 1/12s as an additional benefit of being involved with Uni Connect.
