Welcome to the April edition of the 2021/22 Linking London Uni Connect bulletin.
Below you'll find upcoming events for students and staff.
We've brought back our open day calendar - view and download PDF here and feel free to share with students.
The main focus of delivery for the young targeted team this month has been initial one to one meetings with Year 12/Year 1 learners. We have also been busy getting the two latest mentoring schemes up and running, but most mentees are now matched with a mentor and already having really interesting and valuable conversations about their future plans.
Our Apprenticeships webinar was a great success, with 117 attendees. 67% of the attendees were parents and the rest students. The recording can be accessed here so please do take a look or send it on to anyone you think may be interested.
Update on Uni Connect adult learner work
We have produced three case study videos featuring mature learners speaking about their experiences of higher education. The three videos and a ‘highlight reel’ can be found on our YouTube channel in a playlist here. Please feel free to use/show these during any outreach or IAG work you think is suitable – the three students are from Birkbeck, University of Westminster, and Point Blank Music School and provide some really valuable and inspirational insights.
We have produced 5 posters as a continuation of our ‘Curriculum to Careers’ poster series – the 5 new posters are specifically aimed at Access learners. We will be distributing printed copies to colleges, and PDFs can be found on the Linking London website. The subjects covered are Nursing, Education, Social Sciences, Art and Design, and Business. Our previous ones, aimed particularly at BTEC Level 3 students, are here.
If you require support with IAG and HE advice for your Level 3 adult learners, please complete our request form and we will reach out to our HE partners on your behalf to fill the request. Several colleges have utilised this so far with positive results.
