As many of you may know, Lambert was in the hospital all of June, July and much of August. He is back home returning gradually to normal life and the possibility of resuming ministry. His time in the hospital was both challenging and renewing, as he was lead and had a chance to review in great detail many elements in his life journey, faith and ministry in what he affectionately refers to as a period of being "held captive by the Lord.
God met him in his hours of need, reminding him of you, his many friends who he thought much about and longed to be in touch with. He was visited by many and spoke often of "wishing to be surrounded more by his true family of believing friends." During his illness Lambert also revisited his early life, being taken vividly into reliving many events and experiences. In this sharp focal lens many new details of his early life emerged and were cleaned up into a new spiritual light as the Lord brought him much insight and supernatural healing.
Although Lambert's health had suffered a brief eclipse, he received a new kind of grace and intimacy with the Lord he says reminds him of his first days as a new believer. He has come back to us now more excited about Jesus than ever. He has been reading voraciously through his old bible and Ray Stedman notes, listening to sermons and reading broadly through his website. More than anything else is is asking for your prayers while hoping to renew a small home group of dedicated friends in the area who can meet together regularly as in the old days.
Lambert has a fine caregiver helping him now and he grows stronger daily. He says as his highest reason for being among the living is to walk with the Lord in closer relationship with his loving friends and the caring spiritual family he longs to meet with and minister to. At 85 he doesn't know how long he will be allowed to remain here, but wishes to redeem every day through getting to better know his friends and sharing Jesus' love with them.
Many of you may not have heard from him in some time, but he hand picked this mailing list and asked me (Lawrence Hoppis) to send out this newsletter to you. Lambert dearly hopes you will write back to him (lambert@ldolphin.org), help remind him of special memories and catch him up with your current happenings so that he may pray for you and know how you are. He hopes very much to hear back from you sometime soon so please do write him.
