As the news about the Coronavirus and COVID-19 rolled out last week, I have to admit that I was struck with some severe anxiety about how businesses (both mine and our client's) would fare as our community began to implement social distancing to protect our vulnerable neighbors.

After a couple of days, a lot of prayer, and some lengthy social media breaks, I created a plan - one that would protect my team and serve our clients. I wanted to share some tools we use that might be useful AND share a 100% sales-free offer with you.
Here are some of our remote team's favorite tools to use so we can communicate well from afar:
  • Zoom for video conferencing
  • Loom for recording feedback via video
  • Slack for quick communication (both work-related and "water cooler" chats)
Internally, our team has been talking about how to best take care of ourselves amidst the stress that comes with the unknown. Here are some of the things we're doing:
  • Moving our bodies (whether outside or inside)
  • Taking breaks from social media
  • Checking in on our loved ones via phone

As you think about how COVID-19 will affect your business, I wanted to share a question that was posed to me during a recent conference call with StoryBrand's CEO Donald Miller:

How do you want your business to be positioned when we come out on the other side of this pandemic?

I've been thinking a lot about the opportunities this question invites. For our team, it means we will be wrapping up some internal projects that have been delayed: our SOP handbook, some new freebies for our audience, a refresh in our messaging, AND a new re-brand for our own business (you heard it here first).

What opportunities can you take advantage of during this frustrating season? What have you been too busy to do, but now have time to do?

A new product menu? A refreshed website? Updating your printed materials? Creating a loyalty rewards program? Launching a blog or email newsletter? Creating a social media schedule for the year?

I want to be clear. I'm not taking this pandemic lightly as it will affect many of our businesses deeply. It may dry up our savings or cause us to make hard decisions about our team. But amidst that, we can come out on the other side stronger.

I know many of you might be solo-preneurs or the only person in your "C-suite." If you need help brainstorming about how you can come out stronger on the other side of COVID-19 or how you can take back a little control of your business during this social distancing period, I'd like to offer my time. I've opened up my calendar significantly so we can serve as many of our biz-friends as possible.

During this free hour-long brainstorming session, we will not sell you anything or try to onboard you as a client. We simply want to serve the businesses in our virtual community because we can be stronger together.
