Joy in Remembering
The Christmas holiday brings with it a variety of feelings but one of my favorites is JOY! This also applies to my reminiscing back over the past twelve and a half years as faculty and dean of our school. Every day I see amazing students ready to take on the career of their choosing. And it is with joy that students who have already graduated reappear in my life with stories of their time in our education and psychology classes - important lessons learned, friends made for life, and fond memories of faculty and staff who encouraged them along the way. As I prepare to retire in just a few short weeks, I remember the gift of this amazing job, and reflect on the eternal gift of God's son. Let us rejoice in the joys He has provided. ~ Debbie Muthersbaugh, dean

Somehow, not only for Christmas,
But all the long year through,
The joy that you give to others,
Is the joy that comes back to you.
And the more you spend in blessing,
The poor and lonely and sad,
The more of your heart's possessing,
Returns to you glad.
~ John Greenleaf Whittier

SEP Celebrate Dean Muthersbaugh
Recently the faculty and staff  gathered to celebrate dean Muthersbaugh's coming retirement. After twelve and a half years in the WWU School of Education and Psychology, there were special fun laughs to share and stories for reminiscing. It truly has been an amazing team to to share in the work of service for our students.

Students Find Home in Curriculum Library
CL coordinator Stephanie Onthank popped into the library last week and said, "this sight brought me immense joy! I love to see the library full of students, and this time it was mostly student teachers! There was another duo in the conference room." It might be just the right space for you during final exams to take a quiet break or find a study space for those exams.

Technology Pop-Up
Library Coordinator Stephanie Onthank created a pop-up using educational technology from the past. This tech history museum is still available for viewing in the Curriculum Library. See if you can guess what each item is, what it was used for, and if you know who invented it.
Curriculum Library Hours & Resources
The Curriculum Library will now be open Monday-Thursday, 2pm-7pm.
There will be study music playing and hot drinks (including instant coffee!) available, so this is a great place to study on your own or work with a group. A library assistant will be available during these hours to help locate and check out any books or other resources.

Virtual Math Tutors
Masteryhour.org is a non-profit project which provides free math tutoring to K-12th grade children via zoom.  We were founded during the pandemic and have found there's still a huge, ongoing need to help children catch up in math. We need more student volunteers to help us meet the needs of the millions of families who are struggling to catch up on learning as schools re-open. We provide free training so no experience is required to become a tutor. Here is some more in-depth information about the program and how to become a tutor.
