God with Us
This time of year, Christmas is all around us and one of the best parts for me is the holiday music. There are many songs I enjoy but one of my favorites is the haunting melody of O Come, O Come, Emmanuel. The words were based on a poem with its roots as far back as 15th Century France. The original text created the reserve acrostic “ero cras," which means “O shall be with you tomorrow.” This sentiment is particularly appropriate as we remember that Jesus came, is with us now, and will return at the second advent. The actual composer of the music for one of the world’s most popular carols is anonymous, yet we can rejoice because God is known to us and is with us. ~ Debbie Muthersbaugh, dean

“The Lord your God is with you…He’ll calm you with his love and delight you with his songs.” ~Zephaniah 3:17 MSG

Smith Hall Gets Festive
The holiday season is upon us and we are getting it ready to enjoy the next few weeks before the long Christmas break. Come stop by the main offices to relax around the Christmas tree (pictured Mishelle Castiglioni). Or enjoy a warm drink and music in the Curriculum Library (third floor). You might even see some twinkling lights in your professor's office or random plates of cookies here and there.
SEP Celebrate Dean Muthersbaugh
Recently the faculty and staff  gathered to celebrate dean Muthersbaugh's coming retirement. After twelve and a half years in the WWU School of Education and Psychology, there were special fun laughs to share and stories for reminiscing. It truly has been an amazing team to to share in the work of service for our students.
SEP Clubs
Psychology Club
At Barn Party, Psychology Club hosted a booth that featured corn hole and the crowd favorite: Italian ices, colored/flavored according to the 5 emotions from the Pixar movie, Inside Out.
Barn Party Fun
Education club booth provided yummy pumpkin pie for sale at the recent Barn Party. It was a big hit and the pie completely sold out! (Pictured Aleah and Katie.)
Discovery Preschool
Discovery Preschool Gets a Visit from Education Students
This week, Intro to Education students had a learning lab in Smith Hall’s Discovery Preschool.
Both groups of students enjoyed this visit, as Intro to Education students had a chance to apply their growing knowledge of classroom culture, and Preschool students met new friendly faces to read and learn with.
