First Aid and CPR Requirements
All pharmacists are required to maintain valid first aid and CPR certifications in order to maintain their pharmacist registration.  Pharmacy technicians who will be applying for an extended practice certification in drug administration will also be required to obtain and maintain valid first aid and CPR certification.
The minimum course requirement is emergency first aid and CPR level C certification.  The course must contain a component where a demonstration of skills for certification is required.  Blended programs where theory is learned online followed by an in person required demonstration component are acceptable.

Further details can be found in RP.11 - CPR/First Aid Requirements policy located on the PEICP website.  Please forward any questions to the PEICP office (
