Facebook has failed publishers in two big ways: it’s lost users’ trust (fake news!) and it wields too much control over how and who sees publishers’ content.
While many publishers have done a great job of playing the game to capitalize on the platform’s meteoric audience rise, it hasn’t changed the fact that publishers were still at the mercy of Facebook’s master plan.
So what can you do? Start to shift your energy into channels you can control. Email, Content, Push Notifications, and Live Chat.
