Updates from Friends of Kalimna Park, Castlemaine

There are two events happening in Kalimna Park this month that Friends members may be interested in...

  • Thursday 12th April - Nature Play for 4-6 year olds at Kalimna Point
  • Sunday 15th April - Working Bee in Castlemaine Bushland Reserve (adjacent Kalimna Park)

Nature Play at Kalimna Point

Come and join us in a hunt for the colours of the bush. We need your help to discover how many different colours the bush has to offer. This is a free event for Nature Play Week and will be followed by a story about the bush. 

When: Thursday 12th April from 2pm to 3:30pm
Where: Kalimna Point near the cubby houses. 
Who: For children aged 4 to 6 years old and an accompanying adult. Booking required: Please book as numbers are limited.

The next Friends of Kalimna Park meeting is tomorrow, Saturday 7th April, 10am at The Dove Cafe. All welcome.

Working Bee - Castlemaine Bushland Reserve

Would you like to do some volunteering in the beautiful autumn weather?

The Friends of Kalimna Park are supporting residents of Parker Street East with their fight against gorse and broom in the Castlemaine Bushland Reserve. This small reserve between Parker Street and the golf course is adjacent to Kalimna Park. The working bee will be followed by a BBQ (eskis and BBQs provided).

When: Sunday 15th April, 3pm - 5pm.
Where: Meet at corner of Parker St and Fletcher Street.
Bring: A plate or something to cook; gloves and protective eyewear; wear long pants and long sleeves.
