Walking Together Project Update
Harley Douglas, Djaara Project Officer for the Walking Together–Balak Kalik Manya project in Kalimna Park and Bendigo has sent around an update newsletter. Read it here:
A lot has happened since the June update. Visitor numbers and use of the Park have been surveyed. Different workshops (via Zoom) have been held with the Djaara, Bendigo and Castlemaine communities. 26 people took part in the Castlemaine workshop.
The Community Survey Summary Report captures the responses of 172 people who chose to do the online survey. It indicates the demographics, interests and concerns of Park visitors and is particularly interesting regarding the management tasks people would like to be addressed:
The Report can be viewed here:
The input from the communities will help shape the management plans which Harley is presently working on. He aims to have the draft plans available for comment within a few weeks.
This spring has seen a wonderful display of flowering plants in Kalimna Park. It is still well worth walking the tracks through the 125 ha of bushland.
