NEW ASSISTANT SUPT.

The district office gave a warm welcome to Dr. Drew Passalacqua yesterday, our new assistant superintendent of business services.

NEW HIGH SCHOOL

In partnership with Mt. SAC, we have officially opened the Mt. SAC Early College Academy, a new dual enrollment high school opening this fall.
This was also featured on the San Gabriel Valley Tribune.

BENEFIT BASKETBALL GAME

The West Covina Sunrise Rotary Club hosted the All Star Benefit Basketball Game on Wednesday, March 14, raising over $14,000 for student scholarships. Thank you to everyone who participated and attended the event!

CORONADO RECOGNIZED BY STATE SUPERINTENDENT

Coronado High School is recognized as a "2018 Model Continuation High School" for creating innovative programs that help at-risk students realize their full academic potential.

ACADEMIC DECATHLON

Edgewood and West Covina high school students competed at the Los Angeles County Academic Decathlon Jan. 27 and Feb. 3 and came back with medals. Congratulations to all students who participated in the decathlon!

STUDENT GOVERNMENT DAY

Students from each of our high schools learned first-hand about their local government by shadowing city officials and participating in mock meetings on Student Government Day.

ROBOTICS & STEM

WCHS students recently competed in a regional robotics competition, earning second place and an Engineering Inspiration Award for promoting STEM education to students in our community. Congratulations!

SCIENCE OLYMPIAD

Edgewood students have been quietly collecting medals and awards for their achievements in the Science Olympiad tournaments over the past few months. Wish them luck on their upcoming state tournament!

DR. SEUSS DAY

The WCHS National English Honor Society organized its seventh annual Dr. Seuss Day on Saturday, March 10. Students organized the event to promote and celebrate reading amongst children and families in their community.

USA CHAMPIONSHIPS

Cheer students at WCHS competed at the United Spirit Association Nationals and came back with a huge trophy and banner as the USA Spirit National Champions. Congratulations!
Hip Hop Team is recognized by LA County Supervisor Hilda Solis

WINNING HIP HOP TEAM

WCHS students in the Hip Hop Dance Team were recognized by LA County Supervisor Hilda Solis. They also performed at the California School Board Association earlier this year, and recently won the National Championships at West Coast Elite and CADTD State Championships. Congratulations!!

SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL

Edgewood hosted their annual Shakespeare Festival, featuring food, an art gallery, a court dance, Renaissance themed games and performances for all ages.

PARENT WORKSHOP

This workshop will teach parents how to recognize signs of depression and other mental health problems, initiate a conversation with children, and receive help.

SPECIAL EDUCATION 

This workshop is designed to inform parents what their students can expect as they transition between schools, all the way up to our Adult Transition program.
