SCHOOL REMINDERS

 
* This year's school wide Band and Christmas Concert will be taking place on December 19th, at 5:45 pm. Every student will be participating so please plan accordingly.

* Tonight is Extended Day's Christmas Pageant. If you have a student enrolled in extended day be sure to stop by at 4:30 to watch their performance. 

* Friday, December 21st, will be an 11:30 dismissal with NO extended day available. 

* Items for this year's Advent project will be collected this Friday, December 14th. Please see the flyer below for details.

LAST WEEK'S WINS
 
This past weekend, the Third Grade Boys defeated St. Francis 22-7, the 3rd and 4th Grade Girls won against St. Mary 10-8, the 5th Grade Girls won against St. James 21-7, the 6th Grade Boys defeated Holy Spirit 29-15, the 8th Grade Girls defeated St. Bernadette 28-17, and the 8th Grade Boys won against St. Mary 35-17. 

COACH JEFF'S CHRISTMAS BREAK BASKETBALL CAMP

Hi Parents of 2nd-8th Graders,
Coach Jeff is offering a 5-day basketball camp at QofA from Monday, December 31, to Friday, January 4, 9am-4pm for $125 per camper. Snacks and water will be provided, campers should bring their own lunch Mon-Thurs (lunch will be provided Friday). A majority of the proceeds will be donated back to QofA. 

Please email me at levineka@hotmail.com with your camper's name and grade to register. Checks should be made payable to "Blacktop." Please include child's name in memo section of check, and return payment to the school office to complete registration.

          - This week is National Influenza Vaccination Week: if you have not gotten your flu vaccine yet, it is not too late!
          - Flu vaccine has many benefits and is the best way to reduce your risk of flu and its potentially serious consequences.

EVENTS

Youth Music Festival= Saturday, January 5 9:00 am-3:00 pm. 6th through 8th grade students are invited to participate in a full day of music clinics and performances. This event is free, but registration is required. Participants will get to learn from many different clinicians and work with our students as well. Click Here to register.

Youth Day for Basketball= We will be hosting Youth Day for any students K-8th grade. Students are invited to attend a Boys’ and Girls’ basketball game. The Weekly Spotlight


Coping Strategies for Anxious Children,  National Institute of Mental Health

 
The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) will present this important workshop for parents of anxious children ages 8-17. Highlights include how to help children with anxiety, when anxiety becomes a disorder, strategies for treating specific anxiety disorders, and stress reduction tools. Participants will also hear about current NIMH studies on anxiety in children.
