Keynote Speaker: Mark LaVergne, DTM, PID
Toastmasters History: Where We Came From; How We Got Here

Mark LaVergne is one of a small band of Toastmasters history enthusiasts. Popular speaker on the topic, and frequent poster on TI history at the Official TI Facebook Page, Mark’s interest was first sparked in the 1990s by several Region 2 luminaries, including Past International Presidents Joseph P. Rinnert (1946-1947) and Durwood English (1977-1978).

A proud member of Smedley Chapter One in Founder’s District, Mark joined Toastmasters in the 1980s. A finalist in the 1989 World Championship of Public Speaking (at the Palm Desert Convention), Mark later joined the leadership track and went on to lead District 46 to President’s Distinguished District. He served as International Director 1996-1998.

A graduate of Harvard University, Mark was a Rotary Scholar at Tokyo University in the early 1980s. Afterwards he joined Citicorp as a Marketing Manager. Since the 1990s, he has been an executive speech coach and speech writer for global clients.

His dynamic and fun presentation style and personal stories will leave you both entertained and educated! Don't miss this unique opportunity to hear Mark speak!

Additionally, don't miss out on an encore presentation from the District 100 Spring Conference Keynote & Toastmasters International Accredited Speaker Johnny Campbell with "The Professional Speaker: Truth, Lies, and Money"
