This month's keynote speaker is Past International Director Richard Snyder, DTM. Richard has been a Toastmaster since 1991, has served as Distinguished District 12 Governor in 2000-2001, and was elected to serve on Toastmasters International's Board of Directors from 2007-2009. He currently serves as the Club Quality (DCP) Chair in District 12 and is the Candidate Showcase Chair in District 100.
Richard's Toastmasters passion is competing in speech contests. He won District 12's International Speech contest in 2003, advancing to the Semi Finals of the World Championship of Public Speaking. He is also a past winner of Table Topics, Evaluation, and Tall Tales contests in Founder's District, District 12, and District 100.
His keynote speech is titled “Speech Contests: 101: What, When, Where, Who, and Why” and will focus on how you can best prepare for competing in a contest!
