Niagara-on-the-Lake Public Library Newsletter

March 2023

From Cathy's Desk

March is forecast to come in like a wet lamb but that’s alright; it’s warm and dry in the library. We also have great programs and events this month including the annual launch of our Seed Library on March 11th. The following week is March break and it’s packed with kids’ programs starting with a Minecraft meet-up and space party on Monday and continuing with a comics creation workshop on Tuesday. My least favorite program is also on Tuesday but it’s always a big hit with the kids; the Reptile Kingdom show. March break activities continue all week and you can find details on our website event calendar.

The Learn & Live series resumes this month and we end March with the grand finale event for One Book One Niagara. Author Ivan Coyote’s book “Care of: Letters, Connections, and Cures” is the 2023 One Book, One Niagara selection and the author will be live, in-person for a discussion and book signing at Brock University’s Sean O'Sullivan Theatre March 29 at 7:00 p.m.

We also need your help this month with two initiatives. Work has begun on our 2022 year in review video and we’d love to include your stories, pictures and video footage. You can share your love for the library by clicking on a link a little further on in this newsletter. We’re also looking for volunteers to help at our upcoming tax clinic. It’s a great way to give back to the community and you don’t have to be a tax expert as training will be provided.

Please keep reading for more details and for all the latest titles arriving in March.
