Welcome to the first annual Lethbridge and District Music and Speech Arts Festival…but the 88th music festival in Lethbridge (held for 62 years by the Kiwanis). We are honored to continue hosting this long-upheld Festival allowing amateur performers to share their talents with us and to receive adjudication in their chosen fields of study.  Throughout the next two weeks our city will feature talented community members in various music and speech arts events.  We thank you for taking the opportunity to listen to the various performers and we also thank the various professional people for their support and encouragement of our young people. You are invited to visit various venues throughout the downtown core – Casa, Lethbridge Public Library, Southminster United Church, St. Augustine’s Anglican Church, as well as Chinook High School, La Cite des Prairie, and St. Patrick’s Fine Arts Elementary School.  Festival concerts are being held at the end of each week to highlight the various disciplines included in the festival which you are invited to attend.

Your community board, consisting of nine members, has worked hard this past year on obtaining charitable status, writing board policies, as well as organizing this Festival.  We thank the Kiwanis Club for sharing their expertise with us so that the community board can continue offering a great festival.  New members are always welcome to the Society through contacting our office at: #4B, 740 - 4 Avenue S, Lethbridge, AB, T1J 0N9, (403) 381-6512,

Sandy Brunelle
