As we finish the school year in a somewhat normal fashion, I want to acknowledge all the exceptional work happening at ONE10, especially as we continue to navigate some of the most stressful times – COVID pandemic; student learning and social/emotional gaps; contract negotiations; hectic end-of-year flurry and much more. THANK YOU!!!
Hopefully, you had a chance to feel the appreciation and support you deserve this week and that you can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Throughout my career, I have always had a passion to make sure everyone in school systems is valued and appreciated. I realize there have been times at ONE10 that some staff did/do not feel valued. It truly affects me emotionally because I genuinely care for ALL at ONE10. I know that currently some staff members are not feeling valued and I wish I could change that, but some of that is out of my control. It is my hope that you can look for the good that is happening at ONE10 and find joy in all you do. Hang in there and try your best to find the positives. Thanks for what you do to bring joy to students and each other each day. Below you will find some opportunities to gather together to show appreciation for each other, express value, celebrate each other and just relax.
WE Are ONE10!!
Happy Mother’s Day to All ONE10 Moms
This is a special weekend for all the moms at ONE10. Being a mom is one of the toughest jobs and I want to acknowledge all the wonderful moms at ONE10. It’s been years since my mother passed away, yet to this day her guidance still helps me be a better person. I cannot imagine how she did all she did while raising 15 children and the whole time I never heard her complain, always saw the positive in others and found ways to take care of all around her. A couple of her favorite sayings were “God help those that can’t help themself” and “Blessed are those that are flexible so they don't get bent out of shape.”….Thanks Mom (Ann Devine)...I love her and miss her.
Moms make a great influence on children and truly make the world a better place. Thanks to All the ONE10 Moms for all that you do. You are the BEST! Congratulations for being such a great mom…..Happy Mother’s Day!!
Years of Service and ONE10 Retirement Celebration
When I first came to Waconia Public Schools, I thought it would be great to have an end-of-the-year gathering to celebrate years of service and retirements. For the first few years we didn’t have a big enough space to gather, but then the pandemic hit, so this celebration has been delayed for a while. I am excited to announce that we will be able to gather this year to celebrate and send staff off to the summer break with a fun event. I realize that some are not working on this day and that some may not be able to spare the time from their workday, so this is totally optional. If you are contracted to work on June 3rd, you are expected to come but are not required.
What: Celebration for the ONE10 of the years of service and retirements
When: Friday, June 3, 2022
Grab and Go Breakfast: Starts at 8:30 a.m.
Program to Celebrate the Honorees: Starts at 9.:00 a.m.
Where: WHS Cafeteria and Performing Arts Center
Who: ONE10 employees and the honoree’s guests
National School Nurse Day
Next week we are excited to honor our school health service employees. Our health services staff has stood tall again throughout this year. We are grateful for all their outstanding work and heavy lifting. Our ONE10 health services staff have worked under incredibly stressful circumstances and have done so with professionalism and grace. National School Nurse Day was Wednesday, May 11. Please find time to celebrate our ONE10 Health Services Staff….reach out with gratitude as you would like.
Random Acts of Kindness Day is Friday, May 13th
May 13th is a special day for me and the Devine Family as we honor my sister on her birthday. I feel so blessed to be in a community that is willing to help me honor Ann. During my time at ONE10, we have designated May 13 as a Random Act of Kindness Day. I have been doing this ever since my sister, Ann Devine, passed away years ago. It’s also great to see how this idea has taken off in our ONE10 community. Ann had Down Syndrome and was the brightest light in the family. Every part of her was kind, bringing joy and love to everyone she met. As we all go through these challenging years, we need to show love and grace to each other more than ever. If you want others to know how you brought joy to someone on May 13th, tell us about it, share a photo or video: ONE10Proud@isd110.org
Student Accomplishments to Recognize
Max McNelly wins Nationals
Max won the national wrestling championship in Las Vegas in a dramatic fashion last weekend and will be a member of the U17 World Team in Rome where he will be representing Team USA. Max is the only MN representative for the USA team and only one of a few Minnesotans that have accomplished this incredible feat. Max is such a great representative for ONE10, Waconia, MN, and the USA. We wish him the best of luck at the World Competition. Way to go Max!!!
Delaney Sebora is National Merit Winner
Waconia High School senior Delaney Sebora has been named a National Merit Scholar Finalist. This is a huge accomplishment as less than 1% of the entire student population in the United States ever reaches this level. As a finalist, Delaney has been offered a scholarship. She is looking at attending the University of Southern California or Georgetown University.
We congratulate Sebora on her academic excellence!

ISD ONE10 Year-End Celebration and Devine Retirement Open House Gathering
This year there are no practical venues available for our ONE10 Year-End Celebration on Thursday-6/2 or Friday-6/3. So this year the ONE10 Year-End Celebration at Sovereign’s will be a little earlier. The best available date to have a school-wide social gathering is on Sunday, May 29th from 4:00-8:00. This is Memorial Weekend Sunday, therefore, no work on Monday. I realize this is a three-day weekend and many may be out of town, but for those who can attend, feel free to come to enjoy some social time with each other.
To provide two opportunities at one time. My wife, Kathy, and I are renting the facility at Sovereign’s and hiring The Jason Paulson Band for entertainment that afternoon/night and inviting staff, friends, and family to come to a Pat Devine Retirement Celebration that is open to the ONE10 School Community for the Devine Family to say Thank You to all who have made my time here at ONE10 so extraordinary. Thank You!!

Adventure Bowls Gratitude and Appreciation
From Tara Gesey, Founder & CEO
THANK YOU for letting us be part of your teacher appreciation week, we hoped you loved your bowls as much as we loved making them!
The biggest thank you goes to each and every teacher - I don't believe you have received enough recognition for the immense amount of difference you make not only on regular days, but on the days where you're adapting to a pandemic. You provide love, care, and inspiration to the youth of our futures - what a gift!
The two bowls provided to the schools were
1) Cast a Line - Acai bases, sinful cinnamon granola, bananas, blueberries, and strawberries
2) Keep Er Movin' - Blue Majik and Pitaya bases, vanilla almond granola, bananas, strawberries, and honey (local from Ames Farm!)
Everything that comes out of the Adventure Bowls food truck is gluten free, dairy free, refined sugar free, and vegan! Most options are also organic.
Adventure Bowls is hubbed out of Buffalo, but was built last year while I lived in Watertown which is why most of our events are in the Carver & Hennepin County areas.
You can find us at www.adventurebowls.com to learn more about my growing company. Click on "truck finder" to see where the truck is parked near you!
Thank you for supporting my new local business, I am truly thankful!
Happy Mother’s Day Weekend!!
Enjoy the Wonderful Spring Weather and Prom Weekend!
