Daycroft's Exciting Partnership with Wide World Sports
One of the indoor soccer fields at Wide World Sports is now the Daycroft School Field.  Wide World Sports offers youth classes, youth leagues, adult leagues and soccer camps.  Youth classes, also known as Little Bears, are offered for children ages 18-48 months and are attended by both the child and their parent. Junior leagues are available for children ages 4 to 14 yrs. along with a variety of adult leagues as well!

Coaches will be guiding an after school enrichment program here at Daycroft on Thursdays.  This class will take place on the Zeeb campus from 3:30 to 4:30pm and is open to all age/grade levels.

Additionally, Kids KAMP is held at this premier indoor sports facility as well. WWSC’s Kids KAMP has been hosting campers since 1996 and have always been a go-to sports venue for kids during the summer and winter breaks. Full Day campers are eligible for FREE before and after care (7:30am - 6:00pm).

For more information visit their website or give them a call at 734-913-4625.

Finally, this partnership is extra exciting as Daycroft will have informational materials about our school at the Wide World Sports Center complex and school representatives will be attending some of the Saturday youth games to introduce ourselves to the Ann Arbor community.  We're excited about this awesome opportunity to share the Daycroft story!

Cards and Counters is a material that consists of 10 number cards, 1-10, and 55 round, red counters, each approximately the size of a nickel. This work is typically organized on a floor mat in the Montessori classroom, as it requires a bit of space. Not only does it appeal to a child’s natural sense of order, it’s also very visually appealing! Students also enjoy working with the concept of odds and evens.

Students Master the Craft of Shaker Boxes

The students in grades 5 - 8 had the incredible opportunity of learning about and making shaker boxes with Jason from the Michigan Folk School.  The Shaker people would use these boxes for store food, and trinkets, etc. or carry tools and other necessities.  Students soaked prepared black cherry wood forms, bent, nailed and drilled - all as part of the process of designing the special boxes to take home.
