Welcome new families!  We just received a new contact list for this school year. If this is your first newsletter, don't worry we only send two newsletters a month, but update our website and Facebook more often. WELCOME to the Skyview community!

Skyview PTSA Food Pantry-THANKSGIVING MEAL PROGRAM:

Request a Thanksgiving Meal:
The Skyview Food Pantry will be providing Thanksgiving Meals to those who request one. Delivery of the meal will be on Wednesday, November 25th
Deadline to submit your meal request is Friday, November 20th.

Thanksgiving Meal consists of turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, a vegetable side, gravy, potatoes, chicken stock, dinner rolls and a pumpkin pie.

Skyview PTSA Food Pantry-December Holiday Request

Request a December food bag and/or gift card assistance:

The Skyview Food Pantry will be providing bags of food for the long winter break to those who request one. 

Special for December - Skyview families in need of assistance can also request gift cards to help with holiday gift giving.

  • Deadline to submit your request is Friday, December 11th.
  • Delivery will be on Wednesday, December 16th. If requesting a gift card, someone must be present at drop-off to be able to accept the delivery.

Skyview families helping Skyview families for the December Holiday Season.

The Food Pantry Committee is organizing a "December Gift Card Drive" event.

Skyview families who are in need will be able to request gift cards to help with gift purchasing
and we will use donations from this drive to fulfill those requests!

Any donations we collect that are over the amount needed for this event will go into future food pantry needs.


Our food pantry is fully stocked and Thanksgiving Meals are fully funded! Your generosity is so appreciated as we work to help Skyview families.

If you haven't joined Skyview PTSA yet, do not worry, because it’s not too late! In fact, now is the perfect time to join.
Every PTSA membership purchased from now until December 1st, 2020 will be entered to win a
Home Movie Basket!
It's easy to join online OR you can print a form and mail in a check.

All PTSA members who have joined will automatically be entered for a chance to win. This includes members who joined anytime in THIS school year up until 12/1/20.
 Add a spouse, partner, a grandparent or grab a friend or maybe consider sponsoring a teacher/staff member or several if you are feeling super generous. 
A winner will be announced December 2nd.
 Please help us to achieve our goal of 360 members by December 1st, 2020.

JOIN PTSA TODAY!
Thank you to Barby Taheri, Jennifer Snyder and Melissa Kline for representing Skyview PTSA at Legislative Assembly the weekend of Oct. 24-25th. Although the event was virtual, Washington State PTA voted on the Top 5 Legislative Priorities for the next two year platform. There were also 3 supported issues, resolutions and a new principal added.

Want to get more involved with advocacy? 

Heidi Bennett R6 Advocacy Chair will lead a group discussion on the new WSPTA legislative platform voted in at Legislative Assembly and Advocacy basics to get ready for 2021.​​
This Thursday November 12th 7-9pm Register HERE.
Senator Jamie Pedersen (43rd), Representative Gerry Pollet (46th), and Senator David Frockt (46th) who all sit on the K-12, Higher Ed &/or Budget committees, will join us to give their perspectives on the new ​platform and the upcoming legislative session.



 
  • The competition is open to all Skyview middle school students!
  • New for 2021: This fall, the Bee will launch a new online testing platform for enrolled schools. The online testing platform gives teachers and sponsors maximum flexibility in the administration of local spelling bee programs.

  • If your child is interested, the registration form is here is due by Friday, November 13, 2020.
  • We will be sending further details in email to registered students and their parents by Monday, November, 16th 2020.
