Meeks Bay Restoration Project
Public Comment Closes August 9

The USDA Forest Service Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit and project partners have developed four alternatives to restore Meeks Bay. Each alternative removes the inoperative marina and artificial lagoon, and incorporates recreation amenities such as an improved campground, bicycle and pedestrian paths, parking, and a public access pier.

Providing substantive comments on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement/Environmental Impact Repor
t helps the lead agencies refine the proposed project to better meet the project’s purpose and need and, ultimately, ensure the environmental analysis is thorough. Click here to learn how to write an effective comment letter.

All formal comments must be submitted or postmarked by 5 p.m. (PDT) August 9, 2022. Please follow instructions

Virtual Public Workshop Recording

In case you missed it, you can watch the recording of the Meeks Bay Restoration Project virtual public workshop, held on June 27, 2022. The webinar outlines the project need and history, the alternatives, and the environmental document analyzing impacts from the project alternatives. The workshop included time for questions and answers and directed all formal comments be submitted in writing.
