march 27 | the easter brunch issue | view in browser
Hi there!

With Easter coming up this weekend I thought you could use a sweet treat that didn't come out of a plastic egg... or wrapper...

I made these raw carrot cake balls to have a sweet snack that's made with whole food ingredients and zero sugar.

Oh, the sugar.

So far we've only had one egg hunt (of three) and this morning my kids asked for chocolate at breakfast....

I ran a Hail Mary.

I gave them a carrot cake ball instead and with full mouths they said "more"...

Mom: 1. Cadbury bunny: 0.

The battle continues...

Of course they'll still eat the candy (so much candy), but having some better alternatives around definitely cuts it down a bit.

They help keep my hand out of the Easter baskets too...

Whether you're looking for healthier snack/treat options or ideas for Easter brunch, check out the recipes and ideas below - they can help in both departments.

I hope you have a beautiful Easter weekend!

Raw Carrot Cake Balls +

Kale Salad

For a simple side salad to go along with pretty much anything else you're serving for brunch, you can't go wrong with a kale salad... as long as you prepare it the right way. Find out how.

Zucchini Hummus

Veggies on veggies - doesn't get much healthier than that. Swap in zucchini to make a classic a little different and lighter. Serve with carrots, celery, cucumber and radish for a crisp and colorful crudite.
