From the provost

We are excited to honor the Class of 2019 and to celebrate their academic accomplishments at the universitywide Commencement on Saturday, May 11. This year's event will be held at the Richmond Convention Center.

All faculty participating in the processional should RSVP using our online form by May 3. The VCU Commencement website's FAQ has information regarding parking, entry, security and lineups.

I encourage all faculty to attend this important event, even if your school, college or department holds a separate ceremony. This is one of the most important days in our students' lives, and our faculty have played a vital role in their achievement. At VCU’s Commencement, we can celebrate as a community – as a Ramily!

Student surveys

A pair of important surveys have been distributed to students in the past weeks. The First Destination Survey collects information about students' post-graduation plans — valuable data that helps inform our career and advising services.

Likewise, an email invitation for The Times Higher Education Survey was sent to a random sample of undergraduate students in mid-April. This survey, created by the Wall Street Journal, helps refine our position in the Times Higher Education College Rankings.

Please encourage your students to help us improve the VCU experience by participating in these informative surveys.
