Case Highlights
Argentina: Case Closed Following Release of Compliance Appraisal Report Regarding IFC Energy Project
CAO has concluded its compliance appraisal of the Pan American Energy-01 case in Argentina following a complaint from a former employee of the energy company, which is supported by IFC. The appraisal concluded that an investigation was not warranted, and the case has been closed. The appraisal report is available in English and Spanish. Learn more about this case.
Georgia: Case Regarding IFC Investment in Hydropower Cascade Project Moves to Investigation
After the completion of a compliance appraisal concerning an IFC-supported hydropower project in Georgia, the case is moving to the investigation phase (AGL-01/Makhalakidzeebi). CAO concluded that an investigation is warranted regarding concerns raised by complainants related to groundwater flows and biodiversity impacts. Guinea: Joint Statement Released on Case Concerning Bauxite Mining Project
A joint statement from parties to the Guinea: CBG-01/ Sangaredi case has been released. The statement outlines the actions the parties—26 representatives of 13 communities in Sangaredi, Guinea, and the bauxite mining company, La Compagnie des Bauxites de Guinée (CBG)—have agreed upon. The statement will guide the ongoing mediation process to resolve the concerns raised in a complaint to CAO. The joint statement is available in English, French and Poular. Get full case details.
Egypt: Arabic Version of Investigation Report Regarding IFC's Support for Titan Group Now Available
An Arabic version of CAO's compliance investigation report regarding IFC’s related investment in Titan Group, a cement manufacturing company in Egypt, is now available on CAO's website.
