We build solutions to real world problems by providing an environment where we turn theory into practice and learning means doing.
The nights are getting longer, and it's getting chilly outside - so plenty of time to start creating! And it just so happens that the beta test version of our rack is ready for you to use!

After months of hard work, the rack - our mini maker space on wheels - is now accessible for brave creative minds willing to participate in its beta test phase. A one-hour workshop will get you started on how to use its tools. After that, you can access the rack anytime through the reservation system which we have created. Note that until February, this offer is reserved for people from EPFL, Hackuarium, or Octanis.

Sign up now for the weekly rack workshops!

In the meantime, we have also organised our first presentation at EPFL, with Jonathan Sobel from Hackuarium presenting his beer metagenome extraction project! And more presentations are coming up - stay tuned via this newsletter or our meetup page!

Come by one of our open nights to learn more about our other projects!

Hope to see you soon!
Franziska from Octanis
Last month's highlights

BeerDeCoded Presentation @ Octanis

Jonathan Sobel from Hackuarium was the speaker at this first ever Octanis presentation! His talk on how he developed and realised his research project on mapping the metagenome of beer outside of industry or academia was a success.
Find out more about his work here!
And don't forget to stay tuned on the upcoming presentations via our meetup page!

Octanis @ Semaine des Associations

Semaine des Associations was an opportunity for us to reach out to the EPFL student community and potentially inspire new people to join us. Obviously, we brought our rack with us! It just fit the elevator, so that it could easily be moved from the 3rd floor to the outside - and wheeled across campus to its final destination on the Esplanade.
The rack thus does fulfil its ambition of being a mobile maker space! Wherever its tools and work stations are needed, the rack shall go.
