Fall 2020 ~ August 15

We're back to school...ish.

Welcome to the strangest semester of your college career. Who could have predicted that we would be in this situation?

While this is not the school year you were planning on a few months ago, it's our job to make the best of it. It has never been more important to come together as secular students, especially in this time of crisis. So much is at stake.

  • Christian Nationalism is spreading like wildfire,
  • Science denial is on the rise at the cost of thousands of life, and
  • The most important election in decades is just days away.
These are just a few of the issues we're going to be organizing around this semester and we need you on board!

Don't miss your Student Involvement Fair

Most colleges and universities are not holding in-person student involvement or student activities fairs due to the risk of spreading the coronavirus, but they are doing online, or virtual fairs. Here's now to not be passed over.
  • Make sure your club is registered with the student organization office and included in the online listing of clubs.
  • Check with your Student Activities Office to find out what their plans are for organizational fairs this semester.
  • Learn from other successful campus clubs. What are they doing to thrive at this time?
Make your own plans:
  • Maximize your social media accounts. Create fun, engaging posts. Follow other popular campus social media accounts and tag them in your posts.
  • Create a fun video introducing new students to your club. Be upbeat and concise. What do you do? When do you do it? Why is it the "Best Damned Club on Campus?"
  • Hold a kick-off event that will draw people in. The mission of your club is perfectly situated to address the needs of students this semester.
    • Invite a compelling speaker.
    • Ask provocative questions. How do we remain connected and foster mental health when we're socially distant and isolated behind our computers?
  • Check out these great suggestions for holding in-person meetings safely, outdoors!
