Conservation Education: Everywhere for Everyone. 

Thanks to all of the enthusiastic school groups, community members, and partner organizations who have teamed up with the Robert E. Lee Soil & Water Conservation District this fall to support our education outreach! Students have explored a range of natural resource topics through interactive demonstrations, crafts, and site visits.

Calling all Envirothon Coaches & Teams!

Are you a science enthusiast? Looking for the opportunity to connect with natural resources professionals? Want a fun after-school activity that will build your knowledge & your resume?!

The Dominion Energy Envirothon Competition will be held in late spring 2018. It is a natural resources competition with topics in forestry, aquatics, soils, and wildlife. Coaches can be any adult in the community and teams are made up of 5 students grades 9-12.

Contact Megan Johnston (434-352-2819) if you’re ready to coach or form a team. RELSWCD can help advise a team, coordinate training events, presentations, & field trips, and provide a coaching stipend to volunteer coaches!

What is...a Soil and Water Conservation District?

The mission of the Virginia Association of Soil & Water Conservation Districts and its Foundation is to provide and promote leadership in the conservation of natural resources through stewardship and education programs.


What does this have to do with your classroom?

RELSWCD wants to increase environmental stewardship through outreach & education. We want to partner with teachers and other education professionals to strengthen conservation education in our community.


What does this mean for you and your students?
