Lawmaker wants to add “Drag 101” to school curriculum?
This is the slippery slope we have been warning about...
Our platform has been one of the most vocal opponents of Drag Queen Story Hours, and we were slammed for speaking out about the dangerous precedent being set by these disturbing events.
What started as an “innocent” public library event featuring drag queens (who, it would turn out, were sometimes so poorly vetted they included child sex offenders!) has spilled over into “Pride” events featuring drag shows in bars which are fashioned to be “family-friendly.”
Meanwhile, children dance around in drag as adults throw money at them, as though they are erotic, cross-dressing dancers in seedy strip joints!
Now, as prominent conservative commentators like Greg Kelly and Jack Posobiec and Texas lawmaker Rep. Bryan Slaton suggest criminalizing drag shows aimed at children, one California lawmaker has doubled-down, and suggested adding Drag Queen 101 to the public school curriculum.
Are you paying attention yet?
This week, Texas state Rep. Slaton, a Republican, tweeted out that “Drag shows are no place for a child” in response to a story that a Dallas bar hosted a “Drag The Kids To Pride” event which was billed as a “family-friendly” “spin off” to the gay bar’s Champaign Drag Brunch.
“I would never take my children to a drag show and I know Speaker Dade Phelan and my Republican colleagues wouldn’t either,” Slaton wrote, adding he planned to introduce legislation to “address this issue.”
However, California state Sen. Scott Wiener, a Democrat, took to Twitter to claim he had been inspired by Slaton’s idea — to integrate drag into school curricula!
"This guy just gave me a bill idea: Offering Drag Queen 101 as part of the K-12 curriculum. Attending Drag Queen Story Time will satisfy the requirement," Wiener wrote.
Slaton responded by inviting his Twitter followers to join him in prayer for Wiener, who he noted “is clearly sick.”
Prayer is absolutely where we must go for our country as a whole right now, and then ACTION fueled by prayer to bring our nation to repentance.
Just one day later, the Twitter account Libs of TikTok tweeted out a video of a child dancing in a drag-themed bar, collecting money from adults who cheered him on! That same day, the account shared a video of a New York City middle school that brough in a drag queen to show kids how to apply makeup.
Is this reallyabout teaching children tolerance? Or is it about much, much more?
This is the slippery slope I warned years ago that we were flying down — and which was detrimental to an entire generation of children who do not need to be desensitized to sexuality and gender confusion just to learn to be kind to people who are different.
Many of these children will never get their innocence back, but with enough boldness and grace, we can work to make sure that their childhoods, and the childhoods of millions of American schoolchildren who have yet to be exposed to this dangerous and wildly inappropriate trend, are protected.
This has been one of our primary missions here at Elizabeth Johnston Ministries — and we never would have made it this far without your support.
There are many people out there who would rather shy away from the core moral issues at play here — not us.
We have been saying that this is about sexualizing children from day one, and we will never cease to warn about the implications being set. This is much more than politics, much more than a culture war; it is a spiritual battle against those who seek to rob children of their innocence in the name of the false gods they worship.
So we need as many spiritual warriors on our side as we can get.
Are you with us?
Thank you so much for your constant prayers and generosity! We love you all very much!
