Dark Times and Dark Syrup
Hey there <<First Name>>,
This is a story about syrup (or sirrup, if you so prefer). This is also a story about addiction. Naturally, it is also a story about the Buffalo Bills.
The last time that the CBBB officially gathered was weeks ago. The Bills had started losing to the Rams late in the game. Your Intrepid Idiot (me) grabbed a small dispenser of Maple Syrup from the table...and drank it. Bills win! Bills win!
Since that gathering I have consumed more syrup each time the Bills needed a miracle. I had found the solution and the good luck charm to all that has ailed us for season after season.
Or so I thought. This is where things started to go bleak...for the Bills.... for me....for us.
The Raiders game stayed true to form but I was running low on Maple Syrup. I had just enough to claim victory for the team, though.
The syrup went on the list for the next Wegmans trip.
But we never bought it. I don’t know why. That weird Tuesday Tennessee game rolled around and I WAS WITHOUT!
The opening drive interception made we worried. I scrambled. I dug into the dark recesses of the pantry. AHA! “Bourbon-infused Maple Syrup” from sort of family distillery trip. We were saved!
A funny thing about “Bourbon-Infused Maple Syrup.” It has bourbon in it.
A second funny thing about it is that it is tasty.
I drank a lot of it and I don’t think any sort of Infused Maple Syrup is good for the Bills...or me...or us.
Well, I heard the Bills lost to the Titans and I heard that they lost to the Chiefs too. I have been in some sort of Hunter S. Thompson, “Bourbon Infused Maple Syrup” induced haze. I remember very little of the past few weeks. There was pizza. There was Adrenochrome. There was fear.
And there was loathing.
SO this week, I need you good CBBBers to show up at Firefly and watch the game for me while I sit in the corner and try to reduce the harm I am doing to my body while sucking on maple candy.
There will be good beers, full bar, wing specials, and a brunch menu (Uh oh....Syrup, my old friend, is that you?).
The important thing is that YOU MUST RSVP to attend. Game time is 1 PM! We are limited to 30 people.
If you are intending to bring a spouse, significant other, friends, maple saplings...please indicate such in the RSVP form on the website.
RSVP’ing will close at Noon (EDT) sharp on Saturday, October 24th.
