On the beautiful summer day of July 30, 2022, Dakshini held the Annual Picnic held at Arnold Cypress Park in Cypress. The day with no agenda to follow!

It all began with a note of relaxation as members gradually drifted in and engaged in the usual chit-chat, with a pleasant breeze blowing. The delicious chaat and mango salsa tantalized our taste buds.

As the young members got busy with various athletic activities, others mostly enjoyed the time to engage in casual conversation, catch up on lost times, and be a typical ‘Bengalee’. Team Dakshini held a ceremony to offer facilitations to the young graduates to congratulate them as they spread their wings. Dakshini senior members were called upon to offer the certificates and bless the young graduates.

Dr. Vimal Murthy, General Surgeon and Burn, from Torrance Memorial Medical Centre was there to motivate, advise and plan for the next Milestone project with our Milestone leaders.

The amazing array of food consisted of rice, lentil, fried shoestring potatoes, paneer, goat curry, steamed (bhapa) shrimp, chutney, and baked rosogolla. More leisure time followed with tea, crackers, and lemonade until the day was over. 

In summary, the Dakshini picnic could be described as a day of simple relaxation which brought the members together to engage in heartfelt conversations, reconnect with each other, and strengthen the bond that already exists and will be there forever.
