Whale of a sight

Whale migration offers spectacular shows & inspiration

The annual gray whale migration is underway off the coast of the Long Beach Peninsula, providing sensational views and sparking creativity. The annual northward migration typically begins in March and continues into May when females and calves pass. Nearby Cape Disappointment State Park, just a few minutes from the Port of Ilwaco gallery, offers spectacular viewing opportunities. Bring a camera, easel or notebook because you will be inspired! Read more about whale watching.

Whale Artwork

Below the whale tail photo is a newly framed linocut image entitled, “Humpback Whale”, one of several originals in the collection. Each image is a hand-pulled, one-of-a-kind piece created with oil-based inks on 100% rag Arches88 paper. Each piece features a high-quality frame, Museum Glass and archival materials. Unframed pieces also are available.
