Just a couple of winter storm reminders as we head into night two of single digit temperatures:

  • Today, many of the roads began to melt as the sun came out and people ventured out in vehicles. Tonight, that water will refreeze and we may have black ice as well as visible ice  on the roads when we wake up in the morning. Please assume that roads will be more slick in the morning than they were today. Stay home until late afternoon at least if possible!
  • Keep dripping your faucets!
  • Please conserve energy as much as possible by turning off lights when not in use and avoiding appliance use, and running your heater at 68 degrees or lower.
  • Charge all of your important devices.  We were very fortunate to have power all day today, but we still need to stay prepared for any possible outages. ** Fingers crossed that energy is restored to everyone tonight!**
  • Check on your neighbors! Many people had a very hard time today, and we are fortunate that we can all be here to support one another in our small, close-knit community.
  • If you or a neighbor needs anything (even if it does not seem "Village related") please reach out to the office for help. Many residents have reached out now and in the past to be on stand-by when a neighbor needs a hand. If I can't help you directly, we may have someone who can!
